Paraphrasing the great Alessandro Manzoni, "This film doesn't have to be done, neither tomorrow nor ever!" Share: By Gianni Tagliaferri / 28 September 2022 An extremely troubled path that of Star Trek 4. In fact Paramount Pictures, let's just hope for the moment, has removed the film from its calendar. The release date of the project, produced by JJ Abrams' Bad Robot, has been moved forward several times and recently set for December 22, 2023.
Unfortunately, a further delay was already in the air due to the death of director Matt Shakman, who flew to certainly the most profitable shores of Marvel to direct the further reboot of "The Fantastic 4". Star Trek 4, a film still without a definitive title, is according to the Major's programs the fourth chapter of the Star Trek film saga, set in the KelvinVerse, started in 2009 with the reboot film The Future Begins, then continued with Into Darkness in 2013 and Beyond in 2016.
We also remember that the iconic characters of the Classic Series in this alternate universe are played by Chris Pine (J. Kirk), Zachary Quinto (Spock), Karl Urban (Dr. McCoy), Zoe Saldana (Uhura), Simon Pegg (Scotty), John Cho (Sulu) and Anton Yelchin (Chekov), the actor who died prematurely due to an accident.
